The Boys Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the most well-known scouting organizations in the United States. With over 600,000 volunteers across the United States, the BSA is one of the largest volunteer organizations in the United States.

The BSA consists of groups based on age and activities. The major group is K-5 or Cub Scouting. Cub Scouting comprises boys and girls in kindergarten to the fifth grade. It takes organizational and rank tidbits from Rudyard Kipling’s Jungle Book.

The Cub Scouting group holds campouts with parental supervision and involvement. Next, Scouts BSA is a scouting category for participants between ages 11 and 17 or grades six to 12. The category intends to instill character, leadership values, and fitness training in the lifestyles of teenagers.

Finally, the venturing and sea scouting groups are for participants between 14 and 20. The Scouts BSA and Venturing and Sea Scouting categories often have access to career-oriented exploration programs.
